Spindlewise is quoting software for small CNC machine shops in the US: prices from your own machine rates and the customer's 3D model, a link the buyer can accept with their PO number, and a record of which jobs made money. It is set up for the US from the moment you choose your country.
Set up for the US
- USD for every rate, price and quote.
- The sales tax rate you set (none by default) on the quote, with your EIN on the PDF. Tax is added to the price, never mixed into your costs.
- Inches and pounds; you can switch in Settings. The engine always calculates the same way, so a price does not change with the units.
- Inch stock sizes, SFM and in/rev for turning, lb/in³ densities, inch threads (UNC, UNF) read from drawings, and dates as month/day/year.
- Starting figures typical for small shops in the US, to replace with your own: an operator at about US$40 an hour with on-costs, a 3-axis mill at about US$60 an hour before labour, a CNC lathe at about US$52.
What a quote looks like
The example on our home page is a 6061-T6 sensor bracket with a clear anodise. With those typical figures for the US, Spindlewise prices it at US$89.80 each for 10 and US$55.15 each for 100, and shows every line behind the price: material, setup, cycle time, labour, programming spread over the order, the anodiser's minimum charge, overhead and margin.
